Long Island…….Ruby Lee Lane, age 59 of 6310 Straightstone Road, Long Island, died Thursday, February 24, 2011 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville.
Born December 22, 1951 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Douglas Coleman Layne and Janie Frances Short Layne. She was a former employee of Burlington Industries. Ms. Lane was a care giver, she loved kids, and enjoyed caring for all kinds of animals.
She is survived by a brother, John W. Layne and Tina of Long Island; and a nephew, Robert W. Layne.
A Memorial service will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. James Manuel.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
