Gretna……….Ruby Bennett Hogan, age 84 of 9836 of Rockford School Road, Gretna was called to her Heavenly home on Monday, January 14, 2013 at her residence.
Born July 19, 1928 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late Irvin Bennett and Lilly Doss Bennett. She was predeceased by three brothers, John Bennett, Rawley Bennett, Sr., and Randy Bennett; and one sister, Mary Bennett Dalton. Mrs. Hogan was a member of Gretna Christian Church; and was a home maker, and worked several public jobs through the years including the Lane Company and Pugh's Market. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, gardening; and spending time with her family, friends, and pets especially her dog, Foo Foo.
She is survived by her husband, Shelby Alemore Hogan of the residence; two sons, Roger Hogan of Gretna, and Wayne Hogan and his wife, Nancy of Gretna; one daughter, Dianne Dudley of Gretna; two step-sons, S.A. (Pete) Hogan, Jr. of Marshall, TX, and Jeffrey Hogan of Longview, TX; 9 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Charles Scott. Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Thursday at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
