Chatham…….Ruby Osborne Cravens, age 79 of Chatham passed away Thursday, August 28, 2025 at Centra Bedford Memorial Hospital.

Born December 18, 1945 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Will Osborne and Irene Towler Osborne.  She was predeceased by one grandson, Michael Cravens, Jr.; five brothers, Carl Osborne, Burton Osborne, William Osborne, Lindsey Osborne and Onyx Osborne; and three sisters, Evelyne Perry, Dorothy Moore and Relda Shelton.  Mrs. Cravens was a member of Oak Grove Christian Church and a daycare provider for 35 years.  She loved taking care of children, family get togethers and flowers.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Charles "Andy" Anderson Cravens, Jr of the residence; two sons, Michael Cravens and wife, Tina of Hammonton, NJ and Mark Cravens and wife, Anne of Apex, NC; two brothers, Roger Osborne and wife, Martha Sue of Chatham and Emory Osborne and wife, Sandra of Hurt; three sisters, Annie Donley of Myrtle Beach, Brenda Brooks of Chatham and Gladys Osborne of Chatham; five grandchildren, Jack, Brad, Nate, Luke and Rory; and four step-grandchildren, Ashley, Alicia, Amber and Brandon.

Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 1, 2025 at Oak Grove Christian Church by Pastor Mike Waters.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 1, 2025 at Oak Grove Christian Church and other times will be at the residence.
