Gretna……….Ruby Bradner Shelton, age 91 of Gretna, died Sunday, November 21, 2021 at her son's residence.

Born September 5, 1930 she was a daughter of the late Joseph Marion Bradner and Mary McDowell Bradner. She was also predeceased by her husband, Walter Hurt Shelton; one brother, Merrick Bradner; and four sisters, Louise B. Shelton, Beck B. Shelton, Elizabeth Bradner and Helen B. Hamlett. Mrs. Shelton was a member of Payneton United Methodist Church and was a home maker and farmer; she loved working with the cattle and raking hay. Ruby enjoyed playing softball, was an excellent cook and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by one son, Walter H. "Buddy" Shelton, Jr. and wife, Karen of Gretna; one daughter, Penny S. Mason and husband, Johnny of Gretna; three grandchildren, Nicolas Bradner Shelton of Gretna, Taylor S. Brace and husband, Kamron of Montgomery, PA , and Julie M. Vandenburg and husband, Cody of Chatham; two great-grandchildren, Jackson Holiday Brace and Elijah Reed "Eli" Vandenburg.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Mike McDowell. Burial will follow at Payneton United Methodist Church Cemetery.
