Hurt………Ruby Taylor Atkinson, age 90 of Hurt died Thursday, June 20, 2024 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.

Born November 13, 1933 in Lebanon, Tennessee, she was a daughter of the late Boas Winton Taylor and Ila Masters Taylor.  She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas Rucker Atkinson, Sr.; two sisters, Daisy T. Wauford (Robert Earl) of Lebanon, TN and Pearlie T. Bolling (Clanton) of Lynch Station, VA; and three brothers, Rogers Taylor (Mildred) of Bedford, VA, Harry Taylor (Marie) of Lebanon, TN and  Robert "Bob" Taylor of Lebanon, TN.  Mrs. Atkinson greatly loved all of her pets during her lifetime.  She also loved playing the piano, autoharp and picalo.

She is survived by one son, Tommy Atkinson of Hurt; one daughter, Julie A. Sowers and husband, Steve of Altavista; one sister, Kathy Snead of Hartsville, Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Altavista Memorial Park Mausoleum by Randy Parker, Minister.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Altavista Memorial Park Mausoleum.
