Hurt……Roy Ernest St. John, age 93 of Hurt died Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehab.

Born January 6, 1925 in Campbell County, he was a son of the late Norman E. St. John and Mary Ida Keaton St. John. He was a member at Greenbay Christian Church and retired from the Lane Company. Mr. St. John was a member of VFW Post 4165, DAV Chapter 46 and was active in the Honor Guard. He was also a charter member of the Hurt Volunteer Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Lorene Worley St. John of the residence; one son, Roy St. John, Jr. and wife, Claudia of Hurt; one daughter, Janet Wanless and husband, Mike of Chatham; one brother, L.B. St. John of Forest; and one granddaughter, Jessica Williams of Durham, NC.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Lory Brafford, Minister, Larry Evans, Minister and Rev. Brady Willis.  Burial with military honors by American Legion Altavista Post 36 and Gretna Post 232 will follow in Gretna Burial Park.

The family will receive friends at the residence.
