Gretna.…..Ronnie Dale Smith, age 67 of Gretna died Saturday, October 27, 2018 at his residence.

Born February 21, 1951 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late James J. Smith and Jettie Jones Smith.  He was predeceased by a son, Christopher Dale Smith; three brothers, Tony Smith, Coy Smith and Dennis Smith; and two sisters, Alice Chitwood and Grace Norman. Mr. Smith was a former Project Manager for Blair Construction. He loved fishing, telling jokes and stories, building things and helping people.

He is survived by two daughters, Heather Boyles and husband, David and Kelly Garbee and husband, Adam; his special friend, Francine Walker; two brothers, Rex Smith and Jimmy Smith; and sister, Shirley Mahan and husband, Charlie; one grandson, Bryson Garbee; and two special girls, Jody Broyles and Ashley Jenkins and their children.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 29, 2018 at Summersett Baptist Church by Rev. Jason Andrews. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday, October 28, 2018 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
