Chatham……Ronald Wayne "Ronnie" Barbour, age 81 of Chatham passed away on August 9, 2023 in Danville.

He was born September 4, 1941 in Pittsylvania County to the late Billy Barbour and Dora Barbour.  In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by one sister, Yvonne McDaniel.

Mr. Barbour was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy of Gretna and he was a U.S. Army Veteran.  He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.  After his retirement he enjoyed working around the church and spending time with his pets, Buddy, Jack, and Lucy.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley H. Barbour of the residence; one son, Darren Barbour and wife, Sharon of Gretna; one sister, Brenda Edwards and husband, Roger of Chatham; three brothers, Dean Barbour of Chatham, Gary Barbour of Chatham, and Glen Barbour of Chatham.  He is also survived by a special brother-in-law, Tracy Hammack of Gretna.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 12, 2023 at The Church of God of Prophecy of Gretna by Pastor Dean "Buster" Anderson and Rev. Albert Moser.  Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. at The Church of God of Prophecy of Gretna.
