Gretna……….Ronald "Ronnie" William Bennett, age 84 of Gretna passed away Saturday, January 3, 2026 at his residence.

Born May 24, 1941 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Clyde William Bennett and Cassie Leftwich Bennett.  Mr. Bennett was a member of Round Pond Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca "Becky" Dalton Bennett of the residence; one daughter, Dawn Perkins and husband, Donald of Gretna; one son, Jamie Bennett and wife, Wendy of Gretna; one sister, Alice Owen of Gretna; five grandchildren, Brett Perkins (Allison), Zach Perkins, Trey Bennett (Katie), Camdyn Bennett and Jake Thomas; and great-grandchildren, Josh Perkins, Andrew Perkins, Leah Perkins, Eden Perkins and Gray Bennett; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Round Pond Baptist Church by Rev. Ricky Hogan.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Round Pond Baptist Church and other times will be at the residence, 1560 Deer View Road, Gretna.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Round Pond Baptist Church, 11293 Toshes Road, Sandy Level, VA  24161 or to Gretna Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 14, Gretna, VA 24557.
