Hurt………Roger Lee McGhee, age 68 of Hurt, died Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born September 23, 1954 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Billy William McGhee and Hilda Bennette Dalton Brown.  He was predeceased by his wife, Shirley Virginia McGhee; two step-sons, Mark Green and Jeff Green; and two brothers, Oscar Dalton and Donnie McGhee.  Roger really enjoyed going to PACE in Gretna and watching old western movies.

He is survived by one daughter, Tammy Redd of Roxboro, NC; one step-son, Tim Green and wife, Penny of Gretna; two step-daughters, Debbie Layne of Hurt and Sharon Pennington of Metairie, LA; one brother, James McGhee of Gretna; four sisters, Betty Bravo of Gretna, Carolyn Kendrick of Chatham, Cathy Millhouse of Asheville, NC and Joyce McGhee of Baltimore, MD; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. R.G. Rowland.  Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park.
