Glenn Roger Edwards, 62, of Gretna died Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at his residence.  He was born January 14, 1957 in Lynchburg Baptist Hospital.  Roger spent most of his life farming in Mt. Airy.  He was a NASCAR and Minnesota Vikings fan.  He enjoyed the company of dogs and spending time with family and friends. Roger was known as a good-hearted person who was very willing to help others.

He was the youngest son of the late Leonard Lawson Edwards and Mildred Hutcherson Edwards.  He is survived by one son, Kyle Haynes of Hurt; one brother, Jimmy Edwards of Gretna; two sisters, Brenda Walton and husband, Rick of Richmond and Connie Edwards and husband, Mike of Free Union; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at St. Andrews United Methodist Church by Rev. Kyle Uselton.  Burial will take place in the church cemetery.  Following the burial, the family will receive friends in the social hall of the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 10164 East Gretna Road, Gretna, VA 24557, or to Renan Volunteer Fire Department, 232 Camp Branch Road, Gretna, VA 24557.
