Hurt……...Rodger Lee Arnold, age 78 of Hurt died Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born September 27, 1945 in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Eulam Berry Arnold and Virginia Lena Hudson Arnold.  He was predeceased by his wife, Carolyn Elaine Arnold; three brothers, Sammy Arnold, David Arnold, and Oliver Arnold; and four sisters, Vivian, Violet, Virginia, and Kathy.  Mr. Arnold was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict.  He was a member of Hurt Pentecostal Holiness Church and a former maintenance supervisor with Fort Hill Memorial Park.  He loved church activities, watching wrestling, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by four sons, Johnny Arnold and wife, Chrissy, Roger Arnold and wife, Brandy, Tracy Mattox and wife, Misty, and Warren Mattox and wife, Alice; one daughter, Tammy Mattox and partner, Randall; 21 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will take place from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm. Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Hurt Pentecostal Holiness Church.

Military Honors by American Legion Altavista Post 36 and Gretna Post 232 will take place 7:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2024 at Hurt Pentecostal Holiness Church.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hurt Pentecostal Holiness Church, 1212 Grit Road, Hurt, VA 24563.
