Gretna……..Robert Lee Walden, age 70 of Gretna died Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at his residence.

Born June 6, 1954 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late George Bennett Walden and Mary McGhee Walden Falls. Mr. Walden retired from the Lane Company. Robert loved dancing, Country and Bluegrass music, riding his moped and helping others. He especially loved spending time with his grandkids.

He is survived by one daughter, Crystal Perdue of Rocky Mount; five brothers, Howard Walden of Danville, George B. Walden Jr. of Danville, John Walden and wife, Sheila of Gretna, Jack Walden and wife, Sandra of Gretna and Wayne Walden and wife, Debra of Chatham; three sisters, Florence Barbour of Gretna, Mae Belle Shelton and husband, Freddie of Leesburg, FL and Rose Walden of Gretna; and four grandchildren, Hunter Akers, Adrian Akers, Nyla Perdue and Jaxson Voorhees.

Memorial services will be held a later date.
