Long Island………Robert Daniel "Bobby" Stone, age 85 of Long Island died Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Guggenheimer Nursing and Rehab in Lynchburg.

Born October 11, 1934 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Chesley Daniel Stone and Florence Moon Stone.  He was predeceased by his wife, Alease Hughes Stone; and two sons-in-law, Frankie Marsh and Ben Wyatt.  Mr. Stone was a member of Straightstone Baptist Church and he retired from Lynchburg Gas.  He loved fishing, genealogy, traveling, and spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by three daughters, Jane Marsh of Gretna, Robbin Wyatt of Long Island, and Donna Bowers and husband, Stan of New London, NC; one brother, James Stone of Newport News; one sister, Faye Burkwall and husband, Paul of Mechanicsville; and four grandchildren, Beth Marsh, Frank Marsh, Tori Marsh, and Preston Bowers.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden by Rev. R.G. Rowland.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, January 24, 2020 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
