Evington………Robert Lee "Bob" McGregor, age 89 of Evington died Saturday, October 1, 2022 at Runk and Pratt Leesville Road, Lynchburg.

Born November 7, 1932 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Andrew Jackson McGregor and Lillie Haley McGregor.  He was predeceased by his wife, Sylvia Jefferson McGregor; two brothers, Thomas J. McGregor and Johnny H. McGregor; and five sisters, Edith Hicks, Mattie Thompson, Iris Rowe, Mabel Hayward, and Arzella Hayward.  Mr. McGregor was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean Conflict and he was a member of American Legion Lynchburg Post 16 where he served in the Honor Guard. Mr. McGregor was a member of Penuel Baptist Church of Altavista where he served as Deacon for many years, and he retired from General Electric.  He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by one son, Mark McGregor and wife, Brenda of Huntersville, NC; one daughter, Cindy M. Stewart of Altavista; and four grandchildren, Jonathan McGregor, BethAnn Buck and husband, Justin, Cody McGregor, and Shane Stewart.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Carlton Gunter.  Burial will follow in Altavista Memorial Park with Military Honors by American Legion Lynchburg Post 16.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Legion Lynchburg Post 16 or to Penuel Baptist Church of Altavista.
