Hurt……….Robert "Bob" Allen Layne, age 59 of Hurt died Friday, July 8, 2022 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born May 15, 1963 in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late Henry Edward Layne and Mary Virginia Pribble Layne.  He was predeceased by two brothers, James Layne and Jerry Layne.  Mr. Layne retired from Abbott Laboratories and currently worked for Michael Blackstock.  He enjoyed fishing, fixing things, and working on cars.

He is survived by one sister, Shirley Elliott and husband, Ryland of Rustburg; one brother, Michael Layne and Patricia "Trickie" Wilson of Evington; his loving girlfriend, Gail Simpson; and numerous other friends he considered family.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Jason Andrews.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 11, 2022 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
