Gretna……….Robert West Krantz, age 87 of Gretna died Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born August 12, 1927 in Bedford County he was a son of the late William Davis Krantz and Nellie Harris Krantz. He was predeceased by his wife Ella Mae Shelton Krantz; three sisters, Viola Dula, Mary Cooper, and Lois Garrett; and one grandson, Kevin Hall. Mr. Krantz was a carpenter and a member of Summersett Baptist Church. He loved wood working, hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his son, David Krantz and wife, Marjorie of Gretna; his daughter, Janet Hall and husband, David of Altavista; a half-brother, Richard Krantz of Spout Springs; five grandchildren, Shannon Hall, Matt Hall and wife, Susan, Jamie Krantz, Jeremy Krantz and wife, Charlotte, Jennifer Tramontano and husband, Henry; a granddaughter-in-law, Cindy Hall Burns; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Summersett Baptist Church by Rev. Jason Andrews and Ronnie Simpson. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Monday, January 5, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of his son and daughter-in-law, David and Marjorie Krantz, 3304 Paisley Road, Gretna.
