Altavista……...Robert Douglas 'Doug" King, age 67 of Altavista passed away Monday, August 31, 2026.

Born April 24, 1959 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Willie Odell King and Lillie Louise Mann King.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Billy Lee King and David Gene King; and one sister, Brenda King Floyd.  Mr. King was a painter with Ralph and Matthew Farmer Painting. He enjoyed painting,  watching NASCAR, working on lawn mowers, and riding his scooter and lawn mower.

He is survived by a daughter, Holly King of Hurt; a brother, Michael King of Altavista; a half-brother, Jerry King and wife, Sarah of Gretna; and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Lynn Marstin.  Burial will follow in the King Family Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
