R. M. (Kenny) Burnette

Gretna..........Richard McKinley (Kenny) Burnette, age 90 of Gretna died Monday, July 26, 2010 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.
Born February 14, 1920 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late Richard Lester Burnette, and Nora Rowland Burnette. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth Stevens Burnette; a son, Kenneth Wayne Burnette; two brothers, Ben Burnette, and Edmond Burnette; and a sister Odell Moore. Mr. Burnette was a member of Greenfield Baptist Church, a retired supervisor with English Construction, and enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Wyatt Johnson Burnette of the residence; a son Ricky Burnette of Montgomery, GA; a step-daughter, Joan Rice and husband Pat of Brentwood, TN; a sister, Gladys Stone of Danville; a daughter-in-law, Martha Burnette of Madison Heights; four grandchildren, Colin Burnette, Debra Wood, Jerry Burnette, and Terri Brooks; three step-grandchildren, Danielle Rice, Christianna Rice, and Margaret Vasileiou; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Harold Thornton. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
