Chatham……Ricky Gray Yeatts, age 62 of Chatham died Monday, September 12, 2016 at his residence.
Born April 30, 1954 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late Eugene Eldridge Yeatts and Edna Scruggs Yeatts. He was predeceased by a grandchild, Jonathan Gray Yeatts; and three brothers, Archie Yeatts, Thomas Yeatts and Roger Yeatts. Ricky was a longtime groundskeeper at Cedars Country Club. He loved spending time with his son, Donnie and spending time with his grandkids. He also enjoyed mowing grass, cutting wood; and working on lawn mowers and golf carts.
He is survived by his son, Donnie Yeatts and wife, Dana of Chatham; four sisters, Myrtle Moss of Gretna, Barbara Rowles of Chatham, Wanda East and husband, Benny of Chatham and Sherrie Goodman of Danville; and three grandchildren, Arianna Cambrae Bailess, Abigail Marie Yeatts and Isaac Gray Yeatts.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 15, 2016 at Greenbay Christian Church by Frank Fuller, Minister, Rev. Ken Lester, and Rev. Tom Erwin. Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
