Hurt……….Rickie "Slick" Huffman, age 68 of Hurt died Saturday, February 17, 2024 at his residence.

Born July 22, 1955 in Lynchburg, he was a son of the late William "Ball" Onyx Huffman and Eva Dove Huffman.  He was predeceased by a daughter, Stacey Lynn Huffman; a grandson, Christian Lee Huffman; a granddaughter, Precious Miah Huffman; paternal grandparents, Richard "Dick" Huffman and Lucy Huffman; and maternal grandparents, Burkley Dove and Ruth Dove.  Mr. Huffman worked with English Construction, and was the owner/operator of Huffman's Tree Service and Chimney Cleaning Service for over 30 years.  He was a member of Summersett Baptist Church; and he loved working, hunting, and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Ava Brumfield Huffman of the residence; two daughters, Amy Irby and husband, Tommy of Gretna, and Rachel Thompson and husband, Tie of Gretna; one son, Jason Huffman and wife, Christy of South Boston; three sisters, Geneva Galvan, Estelle Carter, and Vickie Shelton and husband, Jimmy Ray; one brother, Amos Huffman; seven grandchildren, Bethany Irby and husband, Adolfo Chavez, Tommy Irby, Jr., Cobee Huffman, Makayla Huffman, Caitlyn Irby, Kyria Matherly, and Hailey Huffman; one great-granddaughter, Christianna Ramirez; special friends, Morrell Jennings, Richard Tolbert, Paul J. Irby, and Rev. Tim Lane.

Memorial graveside services will be held at St. John Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery at a later date.

The family will receive friends at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law, Rachel and Tie Thompson, 681 Azalea Drive, Gretna.
