Gretna……….Rickey Lynn Betterton, age 62 of Gretna died Monday, January 22, 2024 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born April 30, 1961 in Halifax County, he was a son of the late Floyd Junior Betterton, and Emma Booth Betterton.  He was predeceased by one sister, Jane Betterton Tribble; and an infant daughter, Sara Dawn Betterton.  Rickey was a machine operator with Schrader-Pacific, and a member of Mulberry Baptist Church.  He loved his Ford trucks, and his fur babies "Stormy," "Little Bit," and "Bernie."

He is survived by his wife, Kim Betterton of the residence; two daughters, Samantha Guzzardo and husband, David of South Carolina, and Heather Doss and husband, Chris of Gretna; one son, Brian Adkins and wife, Renae of Gretna; and  four grandchildren, Logan Pyles, Luken Pyles, Mila Doss, and Arthur Adkins.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Lynn Marstin.  Burial will follow in Mulberry Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2024 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
