Evington……….Crawford Richard "Dickie" Worley, Jr., age 76 of Evington passed away Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem from Alzheimer's Disease.

Born October 6, 1947 in Campbell County, he was a son of the late Crawford Richard Worley, Sr. and Dorothy Mae Preas Worley.  He was predeceased by his wife, Sandra Layne Worley; two brothers, Steve Worley and Mike Worley; and one granddaughter, Brittany Porterfield.  Mr. Worley was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and he retired from Concord Elementary School in Mantis.  He loved playing Blue Grass Music, hunting, fishing, yard selling, camping, gardening, and watching Westerns on television.

He is survived by three daughters, Karen Mooney and husband, Kevin of Appomattox, Lisa Dawson and husband, Lynn of Hurt, and Patty Worley of Altavista; two stepsons, John Plymale of Altavista and Justin Plymale and wife, Mindy of Evington; two sisters, Patricia Martin of Evington and Elaine Wilson of Hurt; a special sister-in-law, Sandy Worley of Bedford; two granddaughters, Jackie Merrill (Ryan) and Alex Worley (Cody) six great-grandchildren, Jaxon Merrill, Grayson Merrill, Harper Merrill, Brooklyn Merrill, Colton Merrill and David Worley; five step grandchildren and one step great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2024 at Salem United Methodist Church by Rev. Chuck Schooler.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2024  at Salem United Methodist Church.
