Gretna……….Richard Dwight Turner, age 74 of Gretna passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026 at Gretna Health and Rehab.

Born September 5, 1951 in Danville, he was a son of the late Martin Luther Turner and Rebecca Pickeral Turner. He was predeceased by a brother, Mickey Vernon Turner. Mr. Turner was a farmer and loved working in tobacco. He ejoyed hunting, fishing and the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife, Deborah Jacobs Turner of the residence; one brother, Johnny Turner and wife, Martha of Wilmington, NC; two sisters, Wanda Amos of Gretna and Carolyn Bayliss and husband, Dickie of Lebanon, NC; and many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2026 at Gretna Burial Park by Minister Chris Osborne.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be made to (MDS) The Myelodysplastic Syndromes, Inc., 228 Park Ave. S, New York, NY 10003-1502.
