Greensboro, NC…..Richard Lee Stewart, age 80 of Greensboro, NC died Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital in Greensboro, NC.
Born November 24, 1931 in Greensboro, NC, he was a son of the late, Edgar Clarence Stewart and Mary Catherine Garber Stewart. He was predeceased by two brothers, Alfred Stewart and E.C. Stewart, Jr. Mr. Stewart was an Army Veteran. He was a member of Aycock Fellowship Ministries and was a retired employee of Sears-Roebuck.
He is survived by two sons, Mark Stewart and wife, Tammy of Greensboro, NC, and Rickey Lee Stewart of Hamburg, Germany; one daughter, Rene Shelton of Lynchburg; one brother, Bill Stewart and wife, Jean of Greensboro, NC; one sister, Mildred Mitchell of Greensboro, NC; four grandchildren, Mark Stewart, Jr. of Las Vegas, NV, Berkley Shelton of Roanoke, Robbie Shelton of Lynchburg, and Mariah Stewart of St. Louis, MO; and a special friend, Jean Doss of Gretna.
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 3, 2011 at the Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Ira Godwin and Rev. Donnie Pickeral. Burial with Military Honors by the Virginia National Guard Honor Guard will follow in New Bethel Church of the Brethren Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2 to 3:00 P.M. Saturday, December 3, 2011 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence of Jean Doss, 703 Henry Street, Gretna.
