Rustburg………Richard "Dickie" Edward Hutcherson, age 75 of Rustburg died Sunday, October 15, 2023 at Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born January 5, 1948 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late John Thomas Hutcherson and Susie Doris Worsham Hutcherson. Mr. Hutcherson was an Army Veteran of Vietnam, retired from VDOT as a traffic engineer and was a member of Edge Hill Baptist Church. He enjoyed working on lawn mowers, fishing and watching NASCAR.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne Clay Hutcherson of the residence; two sons, Ronald Hutcherson and wife, Brenda of Evington and Robert Hutcherson and wife, Kristy of Lynchburg; two brothers, Marvin Hutcherson and wife, Deborah of Hurt and Roy Hutcherson and wife, Jeanette of Long Island; three sisters, Connie Jones and husband, Reggie of Hurt, Edna Ferguson and husband, Gary of Madison Heights and Doris Mays of Danville; three grandchildren, Tyler Hutcherson, Kaylah Hegedus and Keaton Foster; and one great-grandchild, Joel Hegedus.

A private inurnment will be held at a later date at Altavista Memorial Park.
