Gretna...........Richard Wayne Gwyn Adams, age 48 of 1001 Music Street, Gretna died Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born October 18, 1962 in Tacoma Park, MD, he was a son of John Daniel Adams and his wife, Ernestine of Gretna, and Joyce Holcombe Adams of Gretna. Richard was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gretna and was an automobile salesman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding motorcycles. Richard was a Life member and former Captain of the Gretna Rescue Squad and was a member of the Gretna Volunteer Fire Department.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife Terri Shelton Adams of the residence; two sons, Keenan Riddle of Gretna and Tony Estes and his wife, Christina, three daughters, Jessica Adams Rowland and her husband, Jason of Hurt, Taylor Adams of Florida, and Tasha Van Der Hyde and her husband, James of Chatham; two brothers, Johnny Adams and his wife, Stacy of Gretna, and Leroy Adams and his wife, Ellen of Gretna; three sisters, Debbie Moore and her husband, Kenny of Gretna, Tina Strauss and her husband, Charles of Chatham, and Marilyn Worsham and her husband, Kenny of Gretna; and eight grandchildren, London Van Der Hyde, Mason Van Der Hyde, Kalynn Van Der Hyde, Jolie Rowland, Jada Rowland, Destanee Estes, Elijah Estes, and Jayden Estes.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Gretna by Rev. Jonathan Hilliard, Kenny Worsham, and Charles Strauss. Burial will follow in the Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden, Gretna.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday, April 22, 2011 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home, and other times will be at the residence.
