Hurt……….Reecie Dewel Witt, age 84 of Hurt died Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehab of Altavista.

Born April 9, 1938 in Bedford County, he was a son of the late Beauford Hensley Witt and Clara Stevens Witt.  He was predeceased by his wife, Bernice "Bunny" Mae Witt; one grandson, Corey Van Karkenny; and one sister, Geraldine.  Mr. Witt was a member of St. John Pentecostal Holiness Church.  He was a Jack of all trades; and enjoyed drawing, working on cars, painting cars, and doing crafts.

He is survived by one daughter, Reesa Witt Rivera of Axton; one son, Rodney Witt of Martinsville; one sister, Claudine Hubinek and husband, Bob of Florida; one grandchild, Courtney Karkenny of Axton; two great-granddaughters, Camryn Witt and Gracie Witt; and a special little dog, Petey.

Per his request there will be no public service.
