Obituary

Gretna…..Rebecca "Becky" Pickeral Turner, age 91 of Gretna, passed peacefully into eternity Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.
Born June 23, 1926 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Moman Harris Pickeral and Dellie Keesee Pickeral. Mrs. Turner was predeceased by her husband, Martin Luther Turner; and two sisters, Mag Mayhew and Aliese Creasy. Becky was a devoted wife, mother, granny, and great-grandmother. She touched many lives of family, friends, neighbors, and residents of Gretna Health & Rehab. She gave and received love by all she knew and so many lives are brighter for having known her. She truly was an Angel on this earth. Mrs. Turner was a member of Piney Fork Baptist Church. She enjoyed her church, quilting, cooking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by three sons, John Turner and wife, Martha of Danville, Richard Turner and wife, Deborah of Gretna and Mickey Turner and wife, Deborah of Hurt; two daughters, Wanda Amos of Gretna and Carolyn Bayliss and husband, Dick of Ridgeway; three sisters, Jean Ware of Providence, NC, Joyce Brumfield and husband, Calvin of Gretna and Libby Hedrick of Altavista; six grandchildren, Greg Turner and wife, Rhonda, Kirk Turner, Brandon Turner, and wife, Christy, Jessica Turner Dalton and husband, Jarett, Casey Bayliss Brown and husband, Lewis and Brent Bayliss; and two great-grandchildren, Enzo Turner and Anthony Dalton.
Funeral services will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Ernest G. Roebuck, Rev. Tyler R. Daniels and Ernest "Gil" Roebuck, Jr. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
The family would like to thank the Gretna Health & Rehab Center's staff for the care given to their loved one and a special thank you to the nurses and CNAs (past & present) for the personal care given to her. The family would also like to thank Marie English, Mary Davis and Darlene Brumfield for their compassion and support shown to Mrs. Turner.
