Gretna…..Rebecca Alice Dalton Pruitt, age 80 of Gretna died Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Danville Regional Medical Center.
Born October 17, 1933 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late Pearl Harris Dalton and Lemma Dalton. She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Eugene Pruitt. Mrs. Pruitt was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gretna and was a home maker. She enjoyed church, crafts, spending time at McDonalds, and going on trips.
She is survived by three daughters, Linda Spencer of Gretna, Mattie Hamlet and her husband, Tony of Lynchburg and Teresa Tosh and her husband, Thomas of Chatham; one brother, Clyde Dalton; six grandchildren, Carolyn Shelton and her fiancé, Kenneth Brumfield, Brandy Peckinpaugh and her fiancé, Craig Aten, Cheryl Mason and her husband, David, Jennifer Hamlet, Brad Mills, and Obie Spencer; eight great-grandchildren; and close friends, Brandy Mattox and Ashleigh Marsh.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. R.G. Rowland and Rev. Jonathan Hilliard. Burial will follow at Greenfield Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 P.M. Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
