Gretna.…..Grant Ray Shannon, age 80 of Gretna died Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at his residence.

Born June 21, 1938 in Keystone, West Virginia, he was a son of the late Clarence Shannon and Bertie Virginia Moore Shannon Yost.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Shannon and David Shannon.  Mr. Shannon worked for Wilson Heating and Air and retired from Goin Heating and Air.  He enjoyed watching old westerns, camping, listening to Elvis and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Nancy Huffman Shannon of the residence; two daughters, Sheila Ferguson and husband, David of Appomattox and Sonya Satterwhite and husband, Kevin of Lynchburg; two sisters, his twin sister, Eva Fay Shannon of Princeton, WV and Shelby Jean Leedom of Princeton, WV; two sisters-in-law, Dottie Shannon and Claire Shannon; five grandchildren, Shane, Dustin, Evin and wife, Amelia, Lindsay and husband, Luther, and Sarah and husband, Casey; seven great-grandchildren, Melanie, Chasity, Chelsea, Chase, Savannah, Noah and Dalton who is due to be born in January; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 23, 2018 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Gary Phillips.

The family will reconvene at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2018 at Fort Hill Memorial Park for entombment.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 23, 2018 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
