Gretna……. Ray Earnest Myers, age 69 of Gretna died Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born August 30, 1951 in Danville, he was a son of the late Herman Carroll Myers and Ruth Pauline Mason Myers Smith.  Mr. Myers attended Summersett Baptist Church and was a masonry foreman.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing Bluegrass music, taking care of his dog, "Peanut,"' and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Renee Myers of the residence; four daughters, Kim Dickey and husband, Kevin of Forest, Jennifer Mann and husband, Cris of Mt. Pleasant, SC, Kaylyn McCluster and husband, Luke of Hurt, and Kelsie Myers of Gretna; one brother, "Hooney" Myers and wife, Angie of Gretna; seven grandchildren, Logan Dickey, Carson Mann, Braden Mann, Shyanne McCluster, Landon McCluster, Madisyn Giles, and Easton McCluster; seven nephews, and seven nieces including a special niece, Beth Betterton and husband, Jesse.

Memorial services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Summersett Baptist Church by Rev. Jason Andrews and Logan Dickey.

The family will receive friends at the residence of his daughter and son-in-law, Kaylyn and Luke McCluster.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
