Ray Boles

Gretna……….Andy Ray Boles, age 89 of 6321 Rockford School Road, Gretna died Sunday, June 3, 2012 at his residence.
Born April 20, 1923 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Luther Grey Boles and Margie Brown Boles. He was predeceased by his wife of over 62 years Aurice Callahan Boles; two sisters, Mae Coleman and Gertrude Yeatts; and three brothers, Willie Boles, Wesley Boles and Early Boles. He was a retired truck driver for Burlington Industries, was a member of the CCC Camp and was a veteran of the US Army Air Force during World War II. Mr. Boles was a Charter and devoted member of West End Church of Christ. Ray enjoyed fishing, and coon hunting.
He is survived by two sons, Mark Boles and wife Pat of Chatham and Doug Boles of Gretna; four daughters, Anita Kelley and husband, Otey of Gretna, Brenda Boles of Gretna, Paula Cocke and husband, Richard of Gretna and Sharon East and husband, Mike of Hurt; one brother, Percy Boles of Rocky Mount; 7 grandchildren, Otey Kelley III, Charles Kelley, Beth Boles, Amy Boles, Andria Cocke, Evan Cocke and Aidan Boles; and a number of step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the West End Church of Christ by Randy Parker, Minister, Mickey Witcher, Minister and Terry Schultz, Minister. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
