Chatham………Randolph Scott "John" Barker, age 71 of Chatham died Friday, December 9, 2022 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born February 2, 1951 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Leo Barker and Louella Dalton Barker.  Mr. Barker attended Gretna High School and he was a painter.  He enjoyed fishing, working on old cars, and watching racing.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jo Ann Moore Barker of the residence; one son, John Kelly Barker of Chatham; two brothers, Leewood "Sambo" Barker of Danville and Dennis Ray Barker and wife, Nancy of Gretna; one sister, Lois B. Gibson of Eden, NC; and his good friend, Winston McCormick and wife, Jo Ann.

Graveside services will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Saturday, December 10, 2022 at the Wagner Family Cemetery by Rev. R. G. Rowland.

The family requests no visitors at the residence.
