Chatham………Randall "Kent" Parsons, age 75 of Chatham died Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Roman Eagle Health and Rehab in Danville.

Born June 4, 1948 in Danville, he was a son of the late Ernest David Parsons and Mary Elizabeth Burnette Parsons.  He was predeceased by one sister, Betty Maurenne Parsons.  Mr. Parsons was a member of Hollywood Baptist Church and he was a retired superintendent with VDOT.  He enjoyed going to Blairs Store to drink coffee, fishing and spending time with his special dog, Dixie.

He is survived by three brothers, Neal Parsons of Richmond, Charles Parsons and wife, Rhonda of Hurt, and Carl Parsons and wife, Nancy of Chatham; his special friend and caregiver, Genell Tompkins of Chatham; nieces and nephews, Ben Parsons and wife, Jill, Jeremy Parsons, Gregory Parsons and wife, Maureen, Mary Parsons, Ashley K. Mayhew, and David Parsons and wife, Rebecca; great-nieces, Reagan Parsons, Summer Parsons, Claire Parsons, Madelyn Parsons, Caroline Parsons, and Elizabeth Parsons.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2023 at Hollywood Baptist Church by Pastor Terry St. John.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2023 at Hollywood Baptist Church.
