Gretna………Raleigh Lee Bolling, age 84 of Gretna passed away Saturday, July 15, 2023 at Gretna Health and Rehab Center.

Born February 2, 1939 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late Junior Lee Bolling and Virginia Mae Ramsey Bolling.  He was predeceased by his wife, Betty Jean Saunders Bolling; two sons, Jason Bolling, and Billy Bolling; and a daughter-in-law, Sandra Bolling.  Mr. Bolling was a member of Pittsville Pentecostal Holiness Church and he was a bridge builder.  He enjoyed working in the garden, being outdoors, and hunting and fishing.

He is survived by five sons, Johnny Bolling of Gretna, Michael Bolling and wife, Kimberly of Danville, Jeff Bolling and wife, Patricia of Gretna, Randy Bolling of Danville, and David Bolling and wife, Debra of Dry Fork; one daughter, Janet Riley and husband, Pete of Nelson; 18 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Pittsville Pentecostal Holiness Church by Pastor Thomas Lee and Rev. Ricky Hogan.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Pittsville Pentecostal Holiness Church.

The family would like to thank the staff at Gretna Health and Rehab and give a special thank you to Raleigh's roommate, Archie Parker for looking after Raleigh.
