Gretna……….Phillip (Buddy) Wayne Hammock, Sr., age 66 of Gretna died Friday, February 22, 2013.
Born May 16, 1946 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of Elvige (Bo) Hammock of Gretna and the late Garnette Alice Roach Hammock. He was predeceased by his wife, Mary Margaret Harris Hammock; and a grandson, Matthew Hammock. Mr. Hammock was a former employee of Thompson Trucking. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.
In addition to his father he is survived by two sons, Phillip W. Hammock, Jr. of Gretna, and Tracy G. Hammock and his wife, Mary of Gretna; one daughter, Tammy H. Lindsey and her friend, Scott Morrell of Concord; one brother, Ronnie Lee Hammock of Gretna; one sister, Sarah King and her husband, Jerry of Gretna; a special friend, Betty; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Monday, February 25, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Bobby Brumfield. Burial will follow in Carl O. Moran Memorial Garden.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
