Hurt……Peggy Montgomery Dawson, age 74 of Hurt died Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born May 22, 1944 in Halifax County, she was a daughter of the late James Montgomery and Nettie Dalton Montgomery.  She was predeceased by her husband, Russell C. Dawson; and a brother, Thornton Montgomery.  Mrs. Dawson was a former supervisor with the Altavista Shelter Work Shop.  She enjoyed playing Bingo; and spending time with her dog, "Charlie" and her bird, "CoCo."

She is survived by two sons, Chris Dawson and wife, Tammy of Gretna and Mark Dawson of Altavista; one granddaughter, Cathryn Bravo and husband, Junior of Nags Head, NC; and two great-grandchildren, Isaiah Bravo and Izabella Bravo.

Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the Vaughan Family Cemetery by Rev. Jim Critchley.
