Gretna……Paul Edward Owens, age 80 of Gretna died Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Autumn Care Nursing and Rehab Center of Altavista.

Born September 19, 1943 in Bedford County, he was a son of the late Willey Ora Owens and Tilda Shorter Hedge.  Mr. Owens was predeceased by a son, Stoney Owens; two brothers, Roy Owens, and Frankie Owens; and a sister, Mildred Riley.  Mr. Owens retired from the Lane Company; and he loved sports and spending time with family outdoors.

He is survived by two sons, Dion Owens of Hurt, and Brian Owens of Boones Mill; three brothers, Sam Owens and wife, Darlene of Gretna, Junior Owens and wife, Mary of Gretna, and Willie Owens and wife, Margaret of Gretna; three sisters, Judy Newton and husband, David of Riner, Rosie Krantz of Body Camp, and Lucille Mooney and husband, Bill of Dublin; eight grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will take place at a later date.
