Pittsville……….Otha Herbert Shelton, age 92 of Pittsville died Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Centra Lynchburg General Hospital.

Born December 29, 1930 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late David Herbert Shelton and Geneva Beatrice Tuck Shelton. He was predeceased by two brothers, Wallace Shelton and Jesse Shelton; and one sister, Gertrude Shelton Huff. Mr. Shelton was a U.S. Army Veteran and worked for many years at Fieldcrest Mills.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Barker Shelton of Pittsville; one son, Steve Allen Shelton, Sr. and wife, Charlotte of Pittsville; one brother, Larry Neville Shelton of Huddleston; two sisters, Ruth Dalton of Hurt and Louise Gauldin and husband, Jim of Martinsville; two grandchildren, Steve Shelton, Jr. and wife, Johanna of Pittsville and Keith Shelton and wife, Anna of Crestview, FL; three great-grandchildren, Julia, Connor and Corbin; and a nephew, Kevin Barker.

Per his request there will be no public service.
