Gretna…..Oscar Thomas Davis, age 74 of Gretna died Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Gretna Health & Rehab.
Born May 11, 1941 in Danville he was a son of the late Oscar Lee (Dootsie) Davis and Myrtle Worley Davis. He was predeceased by a great-grandchild, Hunter Weinkauf. Oscar retired from Mecklenburg and was a member of Greenfield Baptist Church. He was a charter member of Gretna Youth Sports and he enjoyed softball, camping, fishing and hunting. He was a member of the Gretna Volunteer Fire Department and the Gretna Rescue Squad where he served in various offices, including Captain.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Willis Davis of the residence; one son, Mark Davis of Fredericksburg; one daughter, Melissa Davis Smith of Mebane, NC; one brother, Donald Davis and wife, Effie of Gretna; one sister, Judy Yeatts of Gretna; one granddaughter, Lindsey Weinkauf; and two great-grandchildren, Emma Weinkauf and Logan Weinkauf.
Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. R.G. Rowland and Rev. Lynn Marstin. Burial will follow in Gretna Burial Park.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
