Halifax……….Oscar Lee Andrews, age 76 of Halifax, formerly of Gretna, died Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the residence of his son in Halifax.
Born August 18, 1939 in Pittsylvania County he was a son of the late Henry Lee Andrews, Sr. and Cassie Barley Andrews. He was predeceased by a brother, Bobby Lee Andrews; a sister, Margaret Andrews; and one step-grandchild, Starlet Goodson. Oscar was a member of Zion United Methodist Church and retired from Klopman with over 40 years of service. He enjoyed working on the farm, especially working on tractors.
He is survived by one son, Edward Lee Andrews and wife, Sherry of Halifax; two brothers, Henry Lee Andrews, Jr. and wife, Betty of Danville and Carroll Andrews and wife, LaVerne of Gretna; one sister, Carrie Barbour and husband, Everett of South Hill; and three step-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 17, 2016 at Gretna Burial Park by Pastor David Edinger.
