Hurt…….Obie Pryde Cook, age 71 of 3744 Shula Drive, Hurt died Thursday, June 2, 2011 at Lynchburg General Hospital.
Born September 10, 1939 in Pittsylvania County, he was a son of the late William Casper Cook and Clella Tuck Cook. He was also predeceased by one grandchild, Lindsay Berger. Mr. Cook was a member of Museville Christian Church, and was the owner of Save Station in Gretna. He enjoyed all kinds of sports including NASCAR, especially #43.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Towler Cook of the residence; two daughters, Tina Berger of Altavista, and Tammy Guill of Gretna; three brothers, Wayne Cook and his wife, Margaret of Gretna, W.C. Cook and his wife, Barbara of Gretna, and Troy Cook and his wife, Wanda of Penhook; one sister, Charlotte Rowland and her husband R.E. of Gretna; four grandchildren, Heather Guill, Christian Pryde Guill, Faith Guill, and Taylor Berger; and one great-grandchild, Holly Guill.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011 at Liberty Memorial Cemetery by Lory Brafford, Minister, and Larry Evans, Minister.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 P.M. Friday, June 3, 2011 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence.
