Gretna……….Norman Allen Hammock, age 83 of Gretna went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 after twenty plus years of declining health.

Born November 21, 1934 in Danville, he was a son of the late Burkley Hammock and Molly Towler Hammock.  He was also predeceased by one sister, Lila H. Thomas; three brothers, Floyd Hammock, Frank Hammock and Red Hammock; and his best friend, Elizabeth H. Carter.  Mr. Hammock was a retired truck driver for Danville Vault Company and was of the Baptist faith.  He loved working, bingo, reading and was a great fan of the New York Yankees.

He is survived by two daughters, Bobbie H. Farthing and husband, Timmy "Bubba" of Gretna and Melissa P. Huffman and husband, W.A. of Gretna; one brother, Bobby Hammock; one granddaughter, Katelyn E. Huffman of Gretna; and two special ladies he thought of and loved as his own kids, Morgan Caldwell and Connie Darnell.

Graveside services will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Hillcrest Burial Park by Pastor Brian Warren.

The family will receive friends at the home of Bobbie and Timmy "Bubba" Farthing and at the home of Melissa and W.A. Huffman.
