Gretna……….Nell Watson Emerson, age 77 of Gretna died Saturday, January 24, 2015 at Gretna Health & Rehab.
Born February 27, 1937 in Pittsylvania County she was a daughter of the late David Louis Watson, Sr. and Hattie Frances Barbour Watson. Mrs. Emerson was predeceased by her husband, James William Emerson; a brother, Freddy C. Watson; and a sister, Jane Childress. She was a former employee of Schrader-Bridgeport International and was a member of Green Pond Baptist Church. Mrs. Emerson was a graduate of Climax High School. She enjoyed feeding ducks and geese; and country and blue grass music. She sang with Tommy Tuck and the Blue Grass Masters.
She is survived by four brothers, David L. Watson, Jr. and his wife, Jennie of Danville, Danny W. Watson of Chatham, Dean Watson of Chatham and Dale Watson of Chatham; two sisters, Dellie Mae Coward and her husband, Perry of Callands and Betty Darlene Tosh of Climax; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no public service.
