Hurt……….Floyd "Nealie" Neal Gibson, Sr., age 78 of Hurt died Friday, April 29, 2016 at Avante at Lynchburg.
Born May 21, 1937 in Campbell County he was a son of the late Walter Lewis Gibson and Bessie Logwood Gibson. Mr. Gibson was predeceased by his wife, Lois Gibson; two brothers, Claude Gibson and Jimmy Gibson; and one sister, Hilda Jackson. He was a plumber. Mr. Gibson enjoyed softball, gardening and going to the Altavista Moose Club.
He is survived by two sons, Floyd "Dink" Gibson, Jr. and wife, Bonnie of Evington and Eddie Gibson of Hurt; one daughter, Debbie Gibson and fiancé, C.L. McNeely of Big Island; one sister, Pat Callahan of Hurt; two grandchildren, Derrick Gibson and wife, Amanda and Ryan Gibson and wife, Sarah; and three great-grandchildren, Emily, Claire and Olivia.
Graveside services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2016 at Green Hill Cemetery by Pastor Tim Lane.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
