Chatham………Nathan Charles Pennell, age 22 of Chatham died Thursday, January 28, 2021.
Born February 1, 1998 in Lynchburg, he was a son of Yancey Pennell and Mary Ann Moore Pennell of Gretna. He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Thomas Moore. Nathan attended Gretna Church of God of Prophecy and he graduated from Gretna High School in 2017. He was a member of 4H and FFA in high school and won the state cattle contest in 2017. He was a lead herdsman with Calhoun Cattle and he also worked with J. Moore and Son Livestock Hauling and Cuz. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding horses; and he loved going to the lake and spending time with his niece and nephew.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one brother, Cody Lee Pennell and wife, Ally of Gretna; his maternal grandmother, Mable Brooks Moore of Chatham; his paternal grandmother, Nancy Yancey of Gretna; his paternal grandfather, Clint Pennell of North Carolina; uncles and aunts, Jeff Moore and wife, Jennifer of Gretna, and Karen Anderson and husband, Terri of Jacksonville, FL; cousins, Adam Moore and girlfriend, Taylor Holley, Holly Moore, and Ashley Anderson; niece and nephew, Raleigh Pennell and Raelynn Pennell; special friend, Jay Calhoun of Callands; and numerous close friends and family.
Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at the Wagner Family Cemetery by Rev. R.G. Rowland and Pastor Obdulio Berrios.
Nathan will be available for viewing Saturday, January 30, 2021 from 12 to 9:00 p.m. and Monday, February 1, 2021 from 12 to 9:00 p.m. at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
The family will receive friends at the residence.
