Chatham……Naomi Wingfield Chumley, age 90 of Chatham, died Sunday, April 14, 2024 at her residence.

Born April 1, 1934 in Henry County, she was a daughter of the late Layton Thomas Wingfield and Ella Gilbert Wingfield.  She was predeceased by her husband, Cecil Eugene Chumley, Sr.; and three sons, Danny Wilkerson, Ronald Wilkerson, and Curtis Wilkerson.  Mrs. Chumley retired from Dan River Mills.  She enjoyed reading; and watching Westerns, especially, "Gunsmoke."

She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Barbour and husband, Darren of Gretna; one son, Charles Wilkerson and wife, Petra of Clarksville, TN; three brothers and three sisters; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Per her request there will be no public service.
