Charlottesville………Nancy Easter Bradner Love, age 102 of Charlottesville died Sunday, December 6, 2020 at Rosewood Village Hollymead Assisted Living in Charlottesville.
Nancy was born on Easter Sunday, March 31, 1918, the year of the deadly flu pandemic, in McDowell County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late David Daniel Bradner and the late Onie Saunders Bradner. She grew up in Franklin and Pittsylvania Counties, attended Climax High School, and graduated from Huddleston High School in Bedford County. She worked as a legal secretary in Chatham for a number of years. Nancy was a member of the Gretna Christian Church.
Nancy was married to William Clifford Love of Gretna, who predeceased her in 1974. She lived on Henry Street in Gretna from the time of her marriage to Clifford in 1940 until she entered assisted living in 2013.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by four sisters, Emma B. Billingsley, Nell B. Moschler, Anna B. Giles, and Elisabeth "Bettye" B. Crocker, and a brother, David D. Bradner, Jr.
Nancy is survived by three sons, William C. "Bill" Love, Jr. of Charlottesville, VA, W. Dwight Love and wife, Celeste of Bishop, GA, and Sherwood "Sherry" Love and wife, Beth of Myrtle Beach, SC. She is also survived by a brother, Robert H. "Bob" Bradner of Toledo, OH; three grandchildren, Kimberly Love, Kevin Love and wife, Randi, Robert Love and wife, Amanda; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no visitation for family and friends will be held. A private family burial will take place at Gretna Burial Park at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 11, 2020, where Nancy will be buried next to her husband.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
