Sandy Level……Muriel Shelton Watson, age 101 of Sandy Level passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at Red Oak Manor of Rocky Mount.

Born June 17, 1924 in Pittsylvania County, she was a daughter of the late Luther Shelton and Nancy Fox Shelton.  She was predeceased by her husband, Isaac Nelson Watson; a sister, Rachel Worsham; and a son-in-law, Ray Brower.  Mrs. Watson was a retired schoolteacher who taught in Virginia and Florida schools. She was also a member of the Eastern Star Mount Dora Chapter #103.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Orgaz and husband, Stuart of Sandy Level and Susie Brower of Sorrento, Florida; one grandchild, Kyle Shiver; and her best friend, Joyce.

Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Chapel by Rev. Lynn Marstin.  Burial will follow in Liberty Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Colbert-Moran Funeral Home.
